Filter Replacement
Filters must be changed every 4 to 5 years depending on your usage of the unit. If the filters are exposed to higher than normal levels of particles and/or gases, however, they might need to be changed more often. Air filters of similar sizes are interchangeable in any Austin Air unit, provided that it is within the correct model series. You can also upgrade your filter when it comes time to replace it. Since most of the machine bodies are the same, you can upgrade to a better filter as long as it is the same size. (Example: You have a HealthMate (HM400) machine, and it is time to replace the filter. But now you want a HealthMate Plus machine (HM450) for better filtration. Simply replace the old 400 filter with a new 450 filter.) Please call to verify filter compatibility before ordering.

Important Information before Ordering Replacement Pre-filters
The pre-filters are the same for all units. You must only specify size of the pre-filter: Regular or Jr. size. You must also specify color. The pre-filters come in 2 colors: Black and White. Select BLACK if your unit is black. We suggest that you select WHITE if your unit is ANY color other than black.
